This is the third installment of “Be Ready for the Wonderful: Words of Well-Being to Ease Your Way Through Change.”
Be Dissatisfied
At times you may not ask for change, yet it will find you nonetheless. You might keep up a happy face and reassure yourself and others that everything is fine — even while harboring discontent deep inside.
Feeling a grumpy dissatisfaction day after day is a bright red flag signaling that a part of you desires something different. Your unrest may gnaw at you as you derive less and less pleasure and fulfillment from the activities and people you once enjoyed. Whether you know it consciously or not, you are preparing for change in your life and you are ready for a new experience.
Rather than rush to talk to a doctor about the restlessness you’re feeling, dialogue with yourself first. Ponder why you choose to go through the motions rather than live out your potential for happiness. Revisit the hopes and dreams that you set aside years ago. Do these thoughts still elicit an inner or outer smile? Even more important, do you need to be hit over the head with a giant hammer or will you seize the opportunity to listen to these early warning signs arising within you?
