This is the twelfth installment of “Be Ready for the Wonderful: Words of Well-Being to Ease Your Way Through Change.”
Be Private
There’s a reason why your personal path is called an inner journey. Much of it is between you and the deepest recesses of your being. It may also reflect an intimate relationship between you and your chosen God, Source, or Creator.
Depending on the size and culture of your extended family or social circle, the news of the changes in your life may travel quickly and you may receive calls or other messages of concern or support.
However, you are not obliged to share your every thought, feeling, joy, or pain with everyone who asks. If you require assistance or are in danger, certainly say so. But if you are thoroughly immersed in your process, you need not broadcast the details. A polite response such as, “I’m just taking some time to ponder my options,” or “I’m focused on myself right now and it feels good,” should get the point across to all but the most insistent.
And when you are given advice, suggestions, and referrals that do not resonate with you, simply say, “Thank you,” and leave it at that.
