This is the twenty-sixth (and final) installment from “Be Ready for the Wonderful: Words of Well-Being to Ease Your Way Through Change,” which I wrote in 2009.

Be Transformed

Every change and transition that you weather brings you to where you are today and immediately transforms you into someone different than you were yesterday or even five minutes ago.

Whether you are changed personally, professionally, financially, emotionally, psychologically, or spiritually, the person who walks out the door is decidedly different than the one who walked in.

There’s no need to over-analyze the experience. Instead, accept that nothing is exactly as it was and that you now view yourself and your world in a new light.

You may not be able to put your finger on exactly what is different, but you will know at the core that you are forever changed. Others may sense it, too, and if you are fortunate, they will embrace you without reservation. You may be stronger or more vulnerable, empowered or more subdued, more talkative or more reserved. You may carry battle scars that reflect the intensity of all you have encountered.

Hold your head high. The badge of transformation conveys infinite honor and offers all the respect that is your due.
