I don’t know a single person who – consciously or unconsciously – isn’t feeling challenged, stressed, bewildered, or downright slammed these days. So here comes
my Kiwi friend KE, who introduces me to this precious ditty by Pink Martini.
(I especially admire all those beings who find divine guidance
in a song inspired by a 1960s-era ketchup ad.)
What’s not to love? Stay cool, stay grounded, stay true, sweet hearts.
(And, of course, remember that “hold on” is often just another way of saying “let go.”)
Be patient; the lyrics don’t show up for a while – but are well worth the wait.
Thanks to ChaosWolrd for the upload.
Hang On, Little Tomato
lyrics by Pink Martini
The sun has left and forgotten me
It’s dark, I cannot see
Why does this rain pour down
I’m gonna drown
In a sea
Of deep confusion
Somebody told me, I don’t know who
Whenever you are sad and blue
And you’re feelin’ all alone and left behind
Just take a look inside and you will find
You gotta hold on, hold on through the night
Hang on, things will be all right
Even when it’s dark
And not a bit of sparkling
Sing-song sunshine from above
Spreading rays of sunny love
Just hang on, hang on to the vine
Stay on, soon you’ll be divine
If you start to cry, look up to the sky
Something’s coming up ahead
To turn your tears to dew instead
And so I hold on to this advice
When change is hard and not so nice
If you listen to your heart the whole night through
Your sunny someday will come one day soon to you.
Patrick,
I dropped you an email to confirm whether you are, in fact, the lyricist or arranger of the song. Couldn’t quite tell, though it sounds that you have ownership with this wonderful bit of music. Bravo!
dadirri7,
Yes, “perfect” is the operative word here. I have been saturating my house and my heart and my spirit with Pink Martini for days now. Great stuff! And yes, of course, I would expect you to simultaneously hang on and let go, integrating being of higher consciousness that you are. (:

I am happy you like the song . I had included lyrics for backup vocals “sometimes the only way to hang on is to let go”
I see that your observations were perceptive.
cheers.
